Are you a responsible, active, and compassionate animal lover who enjoys spending time outdoors with energetic dogs or relaxing with cuddly cats? Wolf Hill Pet Care is looking for a Pet Care Professional to join our dedicated team! As a Pet Care Professional, you will be providing dog walking and pet sitting services for dogs and cats while their owners are at work for the day or away on vacation, ensuring the animal receives the same love and care in their owners absence.
Key Responsibilities
- Exceptional Client Care: Deliver a positive and enriching experience at every visit, tailoring to each pet’s specific needs.
- Dog Walking: Safely walk 1-3 dogs from the same household at a time, using the preferred equipment provided by the owner.
- Play Time: Substitute walks with structured play, keeping the dog engaged and active.
- Behavioral Management: Employ approved restraint and training techniques for dogs that pull or are reactive.
- Feeding & Medication: Closely adhere to all feeding and medication instructions for both dogs and cats.
- Maintain Cleanliness: Ensure a clean environment for the pets, including washing dishes, scooping litter boxes, and promptly cleaning up accidents.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service through effective communication with pet owners.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and a reliable personal vehicle.
- Willingness to travel 10-20 minutes between appointments.
- Ability to commit to a set availability schedule of at least two days per week.
- Physical stamina to walk and stand all day (staff typically walks 3–6 miles daily).
- Capability to safely handle dogs of all sizes, breeds, ages, including those that pull or are reactive.
Highly Desired Experience
- Prior professional experience working with animals (e.g., veterinary clinics, shelters, kennels, or daycares).
- Demonstrated knowledge of canine body language and behavior.
- Experience working with equine or other large animals is a plus.
