Food Service Manager

Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and experienced Food Service Managers - to lead and oversee the daily operations of Wolf & Mermaid's dynamic food service establishment at LANL. This role is vital in ensuring exceptional customer experiences, maintaining high standards of food quality and safety, and managing a dedicated hospitality team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food preparation, restaurant management, and team leadership, with a passion for delivering outstanding service in fast-paced environments. As a key leader, you will drive operational excellence, optimize food and inventory management, and foster a positive work culture that promotes growth and teamwork!

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of daily food service operations, including kitchen management, facilities management, catering, micro-markets, customer service, and staff supervision
• Manage food preparation processes to ensure quality, consistency, and compliance with safety standards
• Utilize POS systems such as Square POS for order processing, sales tracking, scheduling and cash handling
• Manage inventory through accurate ordering, stock rotation, and waste reduction strategies
• Monitor food safety practices and ensure adherence to health regulations and sanitation standards
• Lead shift management by coordinating staff schedules, overseeing performance, and resolving operational issues promptly

Requirements

• Proven experience in quick service or fast food restaurant environments with a strong background in food preparation and cooking
• Demonstrated management skills with experience supervising hospitality teams and managing restaurant operations
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Square; proficient in cash handling and basic math skills
• Extensive knowledge of food safety management, inventory control, and food production processes
• Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication skills for team management, training
• Knowledge of hospitality management principles including shift management, team training & development, and customer service excellence
• Computer skills are a must: Excel, Word and Email are necessary skills.
• Ability to track, order and manage inventory of supplies- paper goods, chemicals, supplies, etc.
• Knowledge of various elements of food service including baking, griddle and frying, salad bar, catering, preparation of grab and go sandwiches, parfaits, stocking of soda machines, coffee preparation etc. Training will be provided on all elements. Interest and focus in all elements of food service is necessary

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
