About Your Opportunity

A successful VDC Engineer will drive the adoption of VDC technologies, use models and rendering tools to show project approaches, and solve complex construction issues. You will also lead Wohlsen’s reality capture and drone program to improve the building experience.

Additionally, the VDC Engineer will engage with Operations Support Team Members to use VDC technologies and models to drive project success and deliver amazing value to our clients and Team Members.

Responsibilities

• You are Wohlsen’s Reality Capture and UAV Program Manager.
• Manage VDC platform access and vendor relationships.
• Provide training to Team Members on the use of VDC platforms.
• Create integrated renderings to support work acquisition, preconstruction, and construction.
• Conduct VDC research and development efforts.
• Lead BIM presentations with Clients on the use and effectiveness of VDC tools.
• Partner with clients, architects, and subcontractors to support client needs.
• Create VDC policies and playbooks to create desired results.

• Reports to VP of Innovation
• Collaborates with Business Development, Precon, & Construction Teams
• Engaged with Ops Technology Trainer & VDC Team
  
  

Authority

• Manage VDC software vendors.
• Recommend VDC software agreements.
• Recommend UAV hardware purchases and software agreements.
• Create VDC policies for approval.
  
  

Accountability

• A VDC program that benefits our clients and drives Wohlsen’s efficiency.
• Creation of renderings and videos that enhance the client experience.
• A well-trained team of certified FAA UAV pilots and a properly maintained drone
  
  

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree or the equivalent of education and experience in one or more of the following disciplines: Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or Construction CAD development.
• Experience of 5 years of experience with BIM & VDC technologies.
• Proficiency with authoring 2D/3D and rendering applications.
• Experience with the Adobe suite of creative tools and video/photo editing.
• Good interpersonal skills (both written/verbal).
• Basic understanding of building systems, interrelation, construction techniques and construction processes.
