Position Summary:
The Development Accounting Intern role provides an immersive, hands-on opportunity to gain real-world accounting experience in a dynamic and collaborative environment. You’ll work closely with our construction, management, and corporate accounting teams to support the development process from start to finish. This position is ideal for a motivated, detail-oriented team player eager to develop technical accounting skills, gain mentorship, and grow their career in real estate and construction accounting.
Who You’ll Report To:
The Development Accounting Intern will report to the Management Accounting Controller.
What You’ll Own:
- Assist in closing draw packages and bookkeeping for development projects.
- Enter and review development invoices and payables, supporting payment processing.
- Work with senior development accountants on bank reconciliations, monthly draw packets, and financial reviews.
- Help maintain accurate and complete financial records through research, filing, data entry, and bookkeeping.
- Support the preparation of journal entries and financial reports.
- Participate in additional accounting projects to gain exposure to all aspects of development accounting.
- Take on other duties as assigned to enhance learning and experience.

What You’ll Bring:
- Must be a recent graduate or actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.
- Completion of introductory accounting courses and a basic understanding of GAAP and financial principles.
- GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.
