The Sales Representative is a revenue-generating position that interacts daily with customers, prospects, and a variety of employees. A strong sense of organization and self-motivation is required. This person will be expected to organize, manage, and develop relationships with customers and prospects in their territory, building upon an existing book of business while identifying new opportunities for growth. They will gain knowledge of the industry, products, and services—specifically in the areas of automotive lift, truck fabrication, and commercial fuel and lubricant tanks and equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Meet and/or exceed sales and profit objectives
- Develop and maintain a call schedule for assigned territory
- Record and track sales activity using company software
- Attend and participate in sales and product training meetings
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and prospects
- Effectively organize and manage time within assigned territory
- Follow company policies and procedures
- Collaborate with supplier representatives as needed
- Provide customers and prospects with accurate technical information
- Assist with credit collections as required
- Monitor and report competitive activity in the market
- Participate in ongoing product and skills education
- Submit required reports and documentation promptly
- Work cooperatively with all company personnel to support team goals
- Perform other related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build lasting customer relationships
- Ability to understand and convey product information clearly and accurately
- Basic math and computer skills, including proficiency with sales or CRM software
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage time and priorities effectively
- Problem-solving ability and sound judgment in day-to-day situations
- Willingness to learn and participate in ongoing training
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within assigned territory
