Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Petroleum Technician with hands-on experience in pipe fitting, welding, and concrete work to support the installation, maintenance, and repair of petroleum storage and fueling systems. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, experience working in industrial or fuel system environments, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair petroleum equipment including above-ground storage tanks, fuel dispensers, pumps, and piping systems
- Perform pipe fitting threaded steel fittings and other petroleum-related piping systems
- Conduct welding (MIG Stick) for structural components and equipment supports
- Perform concrete work including forming, pouring, finishing, and repairing pads, foundations, and containment areas
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics
- Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and repairs in compliance with industry regulations
- Ensure all work complies with federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations
- Operate hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment, and testing instruments safely and efficiently
- Complete required documentation, service reports, and inspection forms
- Respond to emergency service calls as needed
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (technical training preferred)
- 3 years of experience in petroleum systems, mechanical construction, or related field
- Proven experience in pipe fitting and mechanical maintenance
- Hands-on experience with concrete forming and finishing
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical manuals
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and OSHA regulations
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites
Preferred Qualifications
- Able to pass in house welding procedures
- Experience with fuel system installations and tank monitoring systems
- Knowledge of environmental compliance standards
- CDL license (preferred but not required)
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Capable of bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in confined spaces
- Ability to stand for extended periods
Work Environment
- Construction sites, fuel tank farms, industrial facilities
- Exposure to petroleum products, heavy machinery, and outdoor elements
- Requires some travel and overtime
