**Effective September 29, 2025 through date to be determined**
Long Term Substitutes receive a daily rate of $125.00 for the first 20 days of work. Starting on the 21st day, they are compensated at the daily rate for either a Bachelor's ($344.82) or Master's ($370.56) level, based on their qualifications, for the remainder of their assignment.
Passionate Dynamic Elementary Art Teacher who will teach K-5 general art classes. Responsible for helping young students appreciate art and develop their own artistic expressions. The Woburn Public Schools has recently increased the amount of art instruction for their elementary students and we are looking for teachers who are excited to help build a growing art program.
Preferred Applicants for the Art Position should have the following but not limited to:
- Licensure in Elementary Art K-5 state of Massachusetts or equivalent
- Creative instruction on a wide variety of materials
- Well versed in the State and National art standards
- Diverse portfolio in art history, drawing, painting, three dimensional studio, and elements of art
- Flexibility and a willingness to learn new things, have organizational skills and be a teamplayer.
Role & Responsibilities: The teacher will:
- Provide opportunities for students to work and share collaboratively and to develop a strong sense of respect for self and others, while helping young students appreciate art and develop their own artistic expressions.
- Participate in the arts curriculum review and design, and work cooperatively with a team to develop a strong school program incorporating both state and district frameworks.
- Collaborate and integrate with faculty across disciplines to build meaningful curricular connections.
- Plan and present art displays and exhibitions designed to exhibit students’ work for the school and the community.
- Align Content and instruction to the Massachusetts Arts Curriculum Frameworks and to district scope and sequences.
- Abide by state statutes, school board policies, district handbook, and regulations.
- Remain current by participating in ongoing professional development activities within and out-of-district, such as instructional technology.
- All other duties assigned by the Principal or WPS Administration.
Terms of Employment: As outlined in the Agreement Between The Woburn Teachers’ Association and The Woburn School Committee.
