SUMMARY
Performs activities engaged in verifying and keeping records on outgoing shipments, and preparing items for shipment by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Studies shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, and shipping methods required to meet shipping schedules.
Performs outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
Determines routing according to established schedules.
Performs loading to ensure compliance with shipping specifications and product preservation.
Inspects material handling equipment for defects and notifies Warehouse Supervisor of maintenance requirements.
Performs movement of shipments and inspects materials for conformance prior to packaging for shipment.
Posts weight and shipping charges when applicable.
Prepares bills of lading and processes UPS shipments on manifest system.
Update company ERP system to reflect shipment of order and prints shipping documents...
Studies and recommends standardizing procedures to improve efficiency.
Reports errors and complaints.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
