Job Summary
The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager plays a critical role in ensuring a safe and compliant workplace. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing safety programs and policies that align with industry standards and regulatory requirements. The EHS Manager will work closely with all levels of staff to promote a culture of safety, compliance, and environmental stewardship.
Responsibilites
· Conducting regular safety audits
· Presenting safety orientations
· Delivering training and toolbox meetings
· Preparing and reviewing job hazard analyses
· Writing site-specific safety plans
· Completing safety observations
· Documenting near misses
· Participating in safety committee or oversight meetings
· Must have at least 3 years' experience in heavy civil and industrial construction.
· Clean driving record
· Approximately 10-month project with potential permanent employment
· Project site is in Person County NC
· Conduct site specific environmental inspections weekly and after rain events of .5" or more
Skills
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and EPA standards.
- Experience in Heavy Civil construction is preferred.
- Proficient in report writing and documentation related to EHS activities.
- Familiarity with training & development methodologies for effective employee education.
- Ability to conduct root cause analysis to address safety concerns effectively.
- First aid and CPR certification is highly desirable.
- Understanding of occupational health principles as they relate to workplace safety.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively convey safety information across all levels of the organization.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50, $80,000.00 per year
