Position Summary
The Operations General Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of our business, ensuring efficiency, quality, and scalability. This role is responsible for managing production, packaging, fulfillment, retail, and supply chain functions while centralizing key administrative and financial responsibilities. The Operations General Manager is a strategic leader with a hands-on approach who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Lead and manage all aspects of operations, including production, packaging, fulfillment, retail, wholesale, logistics, and facility management.
- Directly manage and support the management team, including conducting regular 1:1s, leading management meetings, and holding accountability for results.
- Lead daily morning huddles with managers and staff, ensuring alignment, documentation, and consistent communication.
- Create and oversee agendas, scheduling, and note-taking for management meetings and all-staff meetings.
- Partner with executive leadership on budget planning, forecasting, and capacity management.
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
People Management
- Approve/deny managers’ timesheets and time-off requests.
- Oversee employee progressive discipline documentation and incident reports.
- Conduct and support employee performance reviews and coaching.
- Make employee announcements and serve as a central communicator of policy and company updates.
- Manage Microsoft Teams: oversee members, monitor general chat, and enforce policies.
- Responsible for cultivating our positive, caring employee culture including planning engagement events, supporting programs that ensure our team thrives, and providing coaching that supports individual growth.
Production, Fulfillment & Inventory Management
- Ensure fulfillment operations align with customer service standards for accuracy and timeliness.
- Oversee production planning decisions: what products need to be prepackaged, ratio amounts, and allocation between wholesale and retail channels.
- Support inventory management across retail and wholesale, including product lifecycle management and decisions on pushing product before expiration.
- Collaborate with Marketing on sales/marketing strategies to move inventory.
- Ensure production team has required product and supplies for pre-packaging.
- Support and hold accountability for inventory management in the retail space.
- Oversee supplies ordering and ensure company vehicles are maintained.
Customer Service & Communication
- Maintain communication with the Customer Service team, reviewing feedback on product, technical, or service concerns.
- Triaging issues directly, escalating patterns to COO/CEO as needed.
- Make cross-departmental communications to ensure resolution of issues.
Financial & Wholesale Operations
- Manage all wholesale orders not paid by credit card, including marking orders as paid/shipped and monitoring fulfillment.
- Approve wholesale accounts, review tax documents, and verify authenticity.
- Ensure credit card wholesale orders have appropriate processing fees charged.
- Monitor bank accounts (Telco, First Citizens, Truist) for wholesale payments, collect checks, and deposit funds.
- Check PO Box for incoming business mail.
- Oversee order submission process: collect and streamline order information, then send to CEO/COO for final approval and ordering.
- Review employee purchase reports, flag variances, and maintain accountability.
Facilities & Administrative Support
- Support CEO & COO with property management, errands, and special projects.
- Deliver products to local wholesale clients as needed.
- Provide general administrative oversight to ensure smooth day-to-day business operations.
Continuous Improvement & Reporting
- Develop, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Implement KPIs to track operational efficiency, cost management, and service levels.
- Regularly report on operational performance to leadership and recommend solutions for improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 7 years of progressive experience in operations management, preferably in eCommerce, production, or packaging.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing managers and cross-functional teams.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain, logistics, and inventory management systems.
- Proficiency in financial oversight, including reviewing payments, accounts, and order approvals.
- Proven track record of process improvement and scaling operations.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with ERP/WMS systems, Microsoft Teams, and data-driven decision-making.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to work on-site in a warehouse/production environment.
- May be required to stand, walk, or lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
- Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends during peak seasons.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
