Event Marketing Specialist (EMS)

41NBC / WMGT has an immediate opening for an Event & Marketing Specialist. The EMS is a progressive, creative thinker who can conceptualize, execute, and close revenue producing ideas that connect our advertisers’ and station goals to our multimedia properties. The EMS position will primarily focus on selling the Station Initiatives and helping the sales team with presentations and ideation. This is a detailed-oriented hands-on sales position requiring strong communication, organizational and creative skills both with internal & external clients. Knowledge of and experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, G-Suite and Dropbox is strongly recommended.

DUTIES:

· Lead and/or assist in achieving Event Marketing revenue goals for all sales promotions and events as assigned.

· Service existing client promotion relationships and help develop new potential client event sponsors.

· Posting information to assigned web pages on station web site if necessary

· Interact directly with public via e-mail/phone as needed regarding contests, events and special promotions.

· Produce contests and sales promotion station events at targeted venues.

· Assist creative services with all client related creative and collateral for contests, sales promotion and station events.

· Keep current strategic contest and sales promotion station events calendar and distribute.

· Maintain community visibility on-site at all WMGT-Sponsored events which may require weekend work.

· Promote and support a positive environment for the station and its clients.

· Assume responsibility for accuracy in the preparation of computer input documents, PowerPoint & Excel.

· Maintain clear, effective and stress-free communication with staff, peers and management.

· Perform other related duties assigned by management.

· On-site event branding and collateral distribution setup, equipment renting if needed and breakdown alongside Creative Services.

· Keep current detailed works in progress/project task tracker developed with management for all contests and sales promotion station events.

· Responsible for use of excellent project organization and communication skills between management and all department teams (Sales, News, Creative Services and Engineering).

· Attend various local initiative groups for sales opportunities (Visitor Bureaus; Marketing Groups; et al)

EDUCATION: College level degree in Marketing, Business, Advertising or Communications preferred but not required.

EXPERIENCE: Previous experience in client support, client-facing duties and setting appointments strongly suggested
