Job Title: Junior Staff Accountant

Location: Cypress, CA (Support Center)

Status: Full-Time

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Staff Accountant to join our corporate accounting team. In this role, you will play a key part in the month-end close process, ensuring the accuracy of financial data across multiple locations. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who enjoys technical accounting tasks but also possesses the communication skills to partner with our operations teams to discuss financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

Cash & Revenue Management

• Perform daily reconciliations of revenue, cash, credit card transactions, and third-party deposits.
• Manage change orders and proactively research and resolve variances with store operations.
• Report and reconcile franchise royalties and advertising fund contributions.

General Ledger

• Record weekly inventory adjustments and prepare weekly financial reports for store locations, focusing on key metrics like revenue, labor, and food costs.
• Prepare and post monthly journal entries to the General Ledger.
• Reconcile various balance sheet accounts on a monthly and quarterly basis to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Support management with ad-hoc projects and other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

• Education: BS/BA degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Experience: 0–1 year of accounting experience. Internship experience, prior roles involving financial reporting or familiarity with General Ledger (GL) software is a significant plus.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a deadline-driven environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating with non-accounting staff (Operations).
• Ability to work independently while remaining a committed, collaborative team player.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Sage 300 or similar ERP systems.
• Prior accounting experience within the Retail or QSR (Quick Service Restaurant) industries.
• Technical Skills: Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data manipulation).
