We are currently recruiting for a Phlebotomist to perform services at the Fresno VA Medical Center in Fresno, CA.
Key Responsibilities
The Phlebotomist shall be responsible for providing routine and STAT testing on blood, urine, and other body fluid services.
- The Phlebotomist is responsible for collecting, transporting, processing, and evaluating specimen suitable for testing, including receiving, delivering, and storing specimens for all lab sections.
- The Phlebotomist shall provide routine and STAT testing on blood, urine, and other body fluid in support of chemistry, histology, toxicology, immunology, coagulation, hematology, urinalysis, and microbiology.
- The Phlebotomist shall follow all patient safety and infection control standards of care.
- The phlebotomist must be certified to provide clinical laboratory services in support of the VACCHCS providers.
- Must have a minimum of 6 months of direct patient care experience performing venipuncture in a clinic or hospital setting.
- Have a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Must be able to pass a WJM and VA Medical Center background check.
