We are currently recruiting for a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide services at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Charleston, SC.

Responsibilities:

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Under the supervision of the nurse manager, the LPN works closely with others as needed in the Acute Care Medical/Surgical areas and Primary Care settings throughout Charleston VA and surrounding Community-Based Outpatient Clinics.
• The LPN functions both dependently and independently with guidance and direction from the Nurse Manager/designee.
• The LPN may be utilized as needed in the Acute Care Medical/Surgical areas, ambulatory/outpatient care clinics, and the outpatient lab.
• The LPN may be utilized as needed in the Acute Care Medical/Surgical areas,  ambulatory/outpatient care clinics, and the outpatient lab.
• The LPN must demonstrate the ability to serve as a responsible member of the nursing team and interact [in an appropriate manner] with patients, family members, professionals and [other] supportive personnel [involved in the delivery of] patient care, incorporating acceptable, established customer service standards into practice.

Requirements:

The Licensed Practical Nurse shall have the following:

• Be a graduate of a state-approved school of practical/vocational nursing
• At least twenty-four (24) months of current experience and must have worked within the last 6 months in a primary care setting.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Must pass a WJM and Veterans Administration Medical Center background check.

Curriculum Must Include:

At least the following information:

• Degrees earned.
• Career history.
• Awards and certifications received.
• Work references include the name of the organization(s), the number of years of service rendered, the address, and the name and phone number of the point of contact.
