Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, manage check-in and check-out processes, and handle multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and process claims using systems like Epic, Meditech, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, and Athenahealth
- Schedule appointments efficiently while coordinating with clinical staff to optimize daily patient flow
- Assist dental practitioners during procedures by preparing instruments, taking digital radiographs, and maintaining sterilization protocols
- Manage patient records electronically using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as OpenDental ensuring HIPAA compliance and accurate documentation review
- Handle billing tasks, including medical collection processes to ensure timely payments
- Maintain organized medical records, file documents systematically, and update care plans and medical histories accurately
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette while providing exceptional patient service and addressing inquiries promptly
Experience
- This is an entry position. While prior clinic or dental office experience is preferred, it is not required. Training will be provided as needed.
- Bilingual abilities (Korean, English) are a plus to effectively serve diverse patient populations
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel), typing (10 key), and health information management software
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on patient service excellence in a healthcare setting
- Previous experience working with multi-line phone systems, filing systems, and front desk operations in a medical or dental environment
