Role Description
WJLA-TV seeks a skilled News Photographer for a full-time on-site position based in Arlington, VA. The News Photographer will be responsible for capturing high-quality visuals for broadcast television, operating non-linear editing equipment to produce compelling news stories, and collaborating with reporters to visually enhance storytelling. Additional responsibilities include ensuring all visual and audio content meets broadcasting standards and contributing to dynamic coverage of live events, breaking news, and feature stories.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Broadcasting and Broadcast Television
- Proficiency in Photography and Non-linear Avid and/or Adobe Premier Editing
- Experience in Storytelling and creating visually dynamic news content
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with the latest camera equipment and editing software
- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record
- Previous experience in a newsroom or similar environment is a plus
