Job Overview

We are seeking a vigilant and proactive Security Guard to uphold the safety and security of our premises. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring access points, conducting patrols, and ensuring compliance with security protocols. Your keen eye for detail and commitment to safety will help create a secure environment for staff, visitors, and assets. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to serve as the frontline defender of our organization’s safety standards, utilizing a broad skill set that includes surveillance, emergency response, and conflict management.

Responsibilities

• Monitor surveillance systems such as CCTV to detect suspicious activity and ensure premises are secure at all times
• Control access to the facility using access control systems, verifying identities and authorizations of employees, visitors, and contractors
• Conduct regular patrols of the property to identify potential security breaches or hazards, including physical security checks and fence inspections
• Respond promptly to emergencies by following established procedures for fire safety, medical incidents, or security threats
• Write detailed incident reports documenting any security breaches, accidents, or unusual occurrences with clarity and accuracy
• Perform background checks on new employees or vendors as part of security clearance processes
• Operate emergency equipment such as AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators), Taser devices, and firearms where legally permitted and trained

Qualifications

• Proven experience in security roles or law enforcement is highly desirable
• Strong surveillance skills with familiarity in CCTV operation and monitoring techniques
• Knowledge of emergency response procedures including first aid, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), AED operation, and fire safety protocols
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting when required for patrol or incident management
• Excellent conflict de-escalation and conflict management skills to handle tense situations professionally
• Familiarity with security regulations, compliance standards, and performing background checks is preferred
• Physical fitness to stand, walk, or perform patrols for extended periods; ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
