You'll manage a caseload of consumer bankruptcy matters, primarily Chapter 7 filings, and play a central role in guiding clients from first consultation through discharge. - Advising clients on their options and walking them through the bankruptcy process
- Preparing, reviewing, and filing petitions, schedules, motions, and related documentation
- Representing debtors at 341 meetings of creditors and in bankruptcy proceedings
- Drafting and reviewing motions and other legal filings
- Collaborating with case managers, law clerks, and fellow attorneys to keep cases on track
- Building and maintaining strong, trusting client relationships
- Active Ohio Bar license in good standing
- Strong research, analytical, and client-advisory skills
- Clear, effective communication and negotiation abilities
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage a busy caseload efficiently
- A genuine interest in consumer bankruptcy and helping people through difficult financial moments
- Prior experience in consumer bankruptcy, particularly Chapter 7 filings
- Experience drafting and reviewing motions and legal documents
- Familiarity with bankruptcy court procedures across Ohio's federal districts

Responsibilities
- Draft documents such as correspondence, pleadings, motions, briefs, affidavits, settlement agreements, and contracts to be used proceedings and contract negotiations
- Keep files organized to make sure the most recent updates are accessible to other attorneys, paralegals, and staff
- Perform legal research, prepare for and attend hearings or other legal proceedings, and give general counsel under the supervision of senior associate attorneys
- Resolve cases efficiently by using communicating effectively with and working alongside senior attorneys and paralegals
- Review client issues on legal matters, analyze available options, and diligently work to determine the best course of action
- Onboard new clients
- Attend Meeting of Creditors for Chapter 7 and Chapter 13
- Attend Court hearings
- Communicate with clients

- Exceptional communication skills and problem-solving skills needed in order to work with all levels of staff and our clients
- Successful completion of the bar exam
