Job Description

The Wiz Kids Foundation Is seeking a summer nurse to oversee camper wellbeing for students entering grades 1-8. We are seeking a professional with a positive attitude and enthusiasm for participating in a positive, upbeat, and challenging summer program.

• Has oversight for medical care activities and first aid occurrences during camp hours.
• Keeper of health records and is the first point of contact for all medical incidents, both student and employee related.
• Dually functions as the afternoon site coordinator. Responsible for weather advisories and safety matters related to the daily camp activities.
• Assumes responsibility for the care of materials, equipment, and facilities.
• Assumes responsibility for a neat, safe environment for students and is committed to their care.
• Practice and promote positive interaction with and among students.
• Manage student's health concerns during field trips and campus tours.
• Encourage self-direction and self-motivation in students.
• Utilize a variety of appropriate materials and hands-on resources.
• Willingness to comply with Suspected Child Abuse Reporting (Subsection (a)(6) of 325 ILCS 5-4).
• Additional duties as contracted.

Qualifications

• Prior nursing experience in an academic environment.
• Degree in nursing is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is required.

Work Environment

Programming will be conducted in various environments (indoor and outdoor) at all locations.

Camp Hours

From June through August, camp runs Monday through Thursday and Fridays are designated as field trip days. Specific working hours will be established once the final candidate is selected.

Compensation

This is a contracted hourly position. Wiz Kids Foundation will present the selected candidate with a competitive contracted rate. Contract arrangement is subject to a comprehensive background check.
