Prep Cook – Wixom Station Grill & Craft Tavern
Location: Wixom, Michigan
Pay: $17.00–$20.00 per hour, based on experience
Schedule: Approximately 30–35 hours per week, primarily daytime shifts; some evenings and weekends may be required.
Wixom Station Grill & Craft Tavern is looking for a dependable Prep Cook to join our kitchen team.
The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing ingredients and menu components according to our recipes and daily prep lists so the kitchen is properly stocked and ready for service.
Responsibilities
- Complete daily food preparation according to prep lists and established pars
- Prepare vegetables, meats, sauces, dressings, sides and other menu components
- Follow recipes, portion standards and proper yields
- Label, date, rotate and store food using proper FIFO procedures
- Maintain clean and organized prep areas
- Follow food safety and sanitation standards
- Communicate shortages or prep concerns to kitchen leadership
- Help keep coolers, storage areas and workstations organized
- Assist with salad preparation, light line cooking, and other kitchen duties as business needs require
- Help with general kitchen cleaning and dishwashing as necessary
Qualifications
- At least one year of restaurant or commercial kitchen experience preferred; experience following standardized recipes and prep lists is a plus
- Basic knife and food preparation skills
- Ability to follow recipes and written prep lists
- Dependable and able to work independently
- Good organization and time-management skills
- Team-oriented attitude
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Food-safety knowledge preferred
