Program Overview

Witte Bros. Exchange's Truck Driving School gives you the opportunity to earn your Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and train with experienced instructors in real-world driving scenarios.

CDL Training Road Map

Phase 1: 5-Weeks of CDL Training and License Preparation

- Lodging provided during this phase

- Begin with in-class instruction

- Practice driving skills on a closed range

- Prepare for and complete your Class A CDL test

Phase 2: Paid Over-the-Road Training

- Train on the road with an instructor

- Gain real-world driving experience

- Transition toward dispatch as an entry-level solo driver

Upon Completion

- Guaranteed entry-level solo driver position with Witte Bros. upon successful completion of Phase 1 and Phase 2

How Pay Works

- Phase 1 is unpaid and focused on CDL training and license preparation

- Phase 2 includes paid over-the-road training with an instructor

- After successful completion of both phases, you will move into your solo driving role

- First-year earning potential: Average of $65,000

Requirements

- Must be at least 21 years old

- Must have CDL permit

- No DWI or DUI in the last 3 years

- No more than 3 moving violations within the previous 3 years and no more than 2 in the last 12 months

- No more than 1 serious violation in the previous 3 years

- No license suspension in the last 3 years

- Stable work history and good references from former employers

- Must be able to read and write in English

- Must pass a DOT physical, DOT drug screening, and job functioning evaluation
