Duties
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal to keep all areas tidy and hygienic.
- Use specialized equipment for floor care such as buffing machines, floor scrubbers, and polishers to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
- Conduct industrial cleaning procedures in warehouses or manufacturing areas, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Assist with custodial responsibilities like restocking supplies and maintaining cleaning equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
- Support facilities maintenance by reporting repairs needed for lighting, plumbing, or structural issues to the appropriate teams.
- Provide porter services by moving furniture or heavy items as needed and maintaining common areas’ cleanliness.
- Follow safety guidelines and proper cleaning procedures to create a safe environment for all staff and visitors.
Skills
- Proven experience in cleaning or janitorial roles with knowledge of commercial or industrial cleaning techniques.
- Strong understanding of floor care including buffing, stripping, sealing, and polishing floors.
- Ability to operate cleaning machinery such as vacuums, floor scrubbers, buffers, and pressure washers effectively.
- Experience with custodial tasks in both residential and commercial settings; familiarity with facilities maintenance is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to perform thorough cleaning while adhering to safety standards.
- Good physical stamina for standing, bending, lifting heavy objects, and working in various environments.
