Hardwood Floor Specialist Apprentice

Job Summary

This is your opportunity to join an experienced and highly renowned team in the hardwood flooring industry! We are seeking an inquisitive and detail-oriented Hardwood Floor Specialist Apprentice to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, refinishing, repairing, and staining high-quality hardwood flooring across various residential and commercial projects. This position Requires No Experience; we will teach you everything from the very basics to the most advanced techniques. There is no school for hardwood flooring, so this is your chance to learn a specialized skillset in an in-demand and growing industry! We pride ourselves in producing the absolute highest quality product each and every day and you will be expected to do the same.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, refinish, stain, and coat hardwood flooring using manual hand tools as well as power tools to ensure flawless finishes.
• Use a variety of equipment including, but not limited to, table saws, skill saws, chop saws, drum sanders, nail guns, cleat nailers, oscillating tools, edgers, and other sanding tools.
• Clearly communicating with customers and being able to answer any questions they may have regarding their floors.
• Willingness to learn every day and take instructions/corrections well.
• Constantly practicing safety by utilizing your provided PPE.
• Lifting wood bundles or heavy machinery over long distances or while ascending stairs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Have good vision either naturally or with corrective lenses/contact lenses.
• Have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from work.
• Cannot smoke cigarettes.
• Must bring a lunch daily.

Important Note

• Employees at Witkum Hardwood Flooring are paid a salary rather than an hourly rate but are still entitled to overtime pay. Employees sometimes work less than 40 hours a week but still receive their base salary pay.
• You will receive regular pay raises in accordance with your skill progression.
