Within Reach is currently seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our team serving individuals in the Bristol area, including Bristol and Prospect, Connecticut.
This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are looking for someone who is reliable, organized, and able to work independently while contributing positively to a supportive team environment.
Available Schedules
Prospect
- Monday–Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hours/week)
Bristol
- Monday–Thursday: Second Staff Position (hours vary)
- Every Other Sunday: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Multiple positions are available. Full-time and part-time opportunities may be available depending on the schedule.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to individuals in their home and community.
- Assist with daily living skills and promote independence.
- Transport individuals safely to appointments, activities, and community outings.
- Encourage community participation and engagement.
- Document services accurately and communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
- Foster a safe, respectful, and supportive environment.
Preferred Knowledge & Skills
- One to three years of experience in human services or a related field preferred.
- Experience supporting individuals with behavioral needs is preferred.
- Flexible, energetic, and dependable.
- Strong multitasking and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide support in a positive, respectful, and encouraging manner.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Reliable vehicle with current registration and active auto insurance required.
- Must be comfortable transporting individuals in your personal vehicle.
- Must be comfortable working in the community and in individuals' homes.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check, DMV record check, Abuse & Neglect Registry Check, and Sex Offender Registry Check.
Compensation
Pay: Up to $20.00 per hour, based on experience and the individual's support needs.
