Role Description Within Reach is seeking an experienced, proactive Manager of Test Prep and Tutoring programs to lead our standardized test prep and tutoring services. This role combines operational management, client relations, and strategic development. The ideal candidate is passionate about student success and detail-oriented, enjoys interpersonal communication both in-person and remote, and desires to continuously learn about the evolving landscapes of standardized testing (SAT, ACT, and related assessments) in order to suggest and/or make thoughtful adjustments to our programs as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
Tutor Program Management:
- Oversee full tutor lifecycle: hiring, onboarding, training, and mentoring
- Manage initial tutor-student sessions, including scheduling and session documentation
- Forecast staffing needs and manage tutor schedules and time-off requests
- Communicate with tutors and provide periodic performance reviews
Client and Student Engagement:
- Conduct kickoff meetings with families: introduce program structure, materials, student expectations, and testing schedule
- Maintain client communication, including reengagement efforts and updates on student progress
- Schedule mock testing and share scores with analysis and next-step recommendations
- Serve as a point of contact for clients
Curriculum and Market Oversight:
- Lead quarterly reviews of Within Reach’s test prep curriculum and recommend updates
- Conduct monthly research on standardized testing changes, industry, and AI trends and report to internal teams
Data and Systems Management:
- Maintain tutor database as tutors enter and exit Within Reach
- Oversee appropriate matching of tutors and students
- Track and report student and tutor data for program optimization and performance metrics
Special Projects and Internal Operations:
- Support new curriculum and program development for additional offerings
- Participate in cross-functional team meetings and strategy sessions
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years in education program management, tutoring services, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience managing teams, training, and performance oversight
- Client-focused mindset with a commitment to service excellence
- Strong familiarity with SAT, ACT, and academic tutoring content and strategy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail, organizational ability, and time management
Location: Hybrid (about 25%-35% in-office (Atlanta), about 65%-75% remote)
