Macon R-1 is seeking a High School Athletic Trainer
The Athletic Trainer provides healthcare services to high school student-athletes, including injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and emergency care. The Athletic Trainer works closely with athletes, coaches, parents/guardians, physicians, and school administration to promote student-athlete health and safety.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and treat athletic injuries and illnesses
- Provide first aid and emergency care during practices and competitions
- Develop and supervise rehabilitation and return-to-play programs
- Maintain accurate and confidential records
- Communicate with parents, coaches, physicians, and school personnel regarding athlete care
- Develop and implement emergency action plans and injury-prevention programs
- Monitor environmental conditions and help prevent heat-related and other sports-related illnesses
- Maintain athletic training supplies and equipment
- Follow applicable school, state, and professional standards and regulations
