Description
We have an opening for an Engineer in Training (aka Staff Professional I or II) on our Site Civil Team, based out of our Charlotte office.
Engineers in Training (EI/EITs), also known as Staff Professional I or II’s, are registered professionals (or almost registered professionals) that support assigned engineers and/or other technical positions on a project level in the Site Civil Department. Staff Professional IIs are technical roles that provide critical support to engineers, landscape architects, and other technical professionals. Working under the guidance of experienced professionals, they translate technical concepts into actionable and documentable solutions while adhering to company processes, standards, and core values. Key responsibilities include assisting with project and client management by supporting communications, participating in meetings, and addressing project challenges. Technically, they contribute to design, compliance analysis, and deliverables, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with standards. EITs also analyze technical problems, apply innovative solutions, and utilize current technologies to enhance project outcomes.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field
- Registration as a Professional in the appropriate field of expertise (ex. EI/EIT) or ability to obtain registration in 6 months
- 0-2 years of related experience in field of specialty
- Experience in AutoCAD Civil3D and Microsoft Office applications
- Self-motivated, engaged, and team-oriented with the ability to work independently
- Execute multiple tasks under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities
- Understand planning and/or design concepts and methods
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to mentor technical staff
