Field Service Technician
Location: Deep River, CT
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM
Position Summary:
The Field Service Technician (FST) is responsible for assembling, installing, maintaining, repairing, and upgrading automation and robotics equipment. The FST will troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues, perform repairs, and develop maintenance plans both in the shop and at customer sites. The role involves collaboration with stakeholders to optimize system performance, provide technical support and training, and suggest improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Travel to customer sites for preventive maintenance, installations, repairs, and upgrades.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical issues on automation equipment.
- Build, repair, and rebuild products in a controlled shop environment.
- Develop and execute maintenance plans to minimize downtime.
- Perform calibration, testing, and adjustments for accuracy and precision.
- Provide technical training and support to customers and end-users.
- Analyze equipment performance and recommend optimizations.
- Maintain accurate service records and communicate findings to teams and customers.
Qualifications:
- Technical degree or equivalent experience (preferred)
- Proficient in MS Office and technical troubleshooting
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Ability to work independently in shop and field environments
- Self-motivated, customer-service oriented, and a team player
