Role: Java Technical Architect

Title: VP

Location: Boston (Day 1 Onsite/Hybrid) – Fulltime

Mode of Work: 3 days/week onsite required

Required Experience: 10 years

Note: only locals preferred

We are seeking an experienced Java Technical Architect to lead the design and development of scalable, secure, and high-performance enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Java technologies, microservices architecture, cloud platforms, and modern software design principles. This role requires strong technical leadership, architecture governance, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver business-critical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and architect enterprise-grade Java applications using modern architecture patterns.
• Define technical roadmaps, architecture standards, and best practices.
• Lead the design and implementation of microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Drive application modernization and cloud migration initiatives.
• Ensure application scalability, security, performance, and reliability.
• Review solution designs, code quality, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and development teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Mentor development teams and provide technical guidance throughout the SDLC.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and drive root cause analysis.

Required Skills

• 10 years of experience in Java application development, with at least 3–5 years in an architecture role.
• Strong expertise in Java 8/11/17, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and Hibernate/JPA.
• Hands-on experience with Microservices Architecture and RESTful APIs.
• Strong knowledge of design patterns, SOLID principles, and object-oriented programming.
• Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Expertise in relational and NoSQL databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.).
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized deployments.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
• Strong understanding of system integration, security, authentication (OAuth2, JWT), and API gateways.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
