Job Summary
The Clarksville Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary is seeking a customer-focused, organized, and collaborative Gift Shop Manager to oversee the daily operations of the Wishing Well Gift Shop. This individual will play a key role in supporting the Auxiliary’s fundraising efforts while creating a welcoming shopping experience for patients, visitors, volunteers, and hospital staff.
The Gift Shop Manager is responsible for managing retail operations, inventory, merchandising, financial reporting, and maintaining strong working relationships with the Auxiliary Board and Vanderbilt Clarksville Hospital Volunteer Services.
Duties
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the hospital gift shop.
- Provide outstanding customer service to patients, visitors, employees, and volunteers.
- Work collaboratively with the Volunteer Coordinator to recruit, train, schedule, and support Gift Shop volunteers while maintaining positive working relationships.
- Coordinate volunteer schedules for Gift Shop coverage in partnership with Volunteer Services.
- Process sales, deposits, invoices, and financial reports accurately.
- Monitor sales trends and recommend new products.
- Work collaboratively with the Merchandiser and Vendor to maintain appropriate inventor levels.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and inviting retail environment.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and Auxiliary procedures.
- Attend Auxiliary Board meetings and provide operational updates as requested.
- Support fundraising events and special sales throughout the year.
Qualifications
- Retail management experience preferred.
- Experience supervising employees or volunteers preferred.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Comfortable using point-of-sale systems and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
- Professional communication skills and attention to detail.
Reporting Structure
The Gift Shop Manager is employed by and reports directly to the Clarksville Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary Board.
The position also maintains a reporting relationship with Vanderbilt Clarksville Hospital Volunteer Coordinator regarding hospital onboarding requirements, volunteer collaboration, compliance, and adherence to Vanderbilt Health policies and standards.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
