Pet Care Kennel Technician

Wishbone Pet Care is growing, and we’re adding dependable, hands-on team members to care for our boarding and daycare pets.

Loving animals matters. So does showing up on time, cleaning thoroughly, following instructions, and noticing when a pet needs help. This is an active, physical position with daily cleaning, feeding, and close supervision of dogs and cats. Pets depend on us every day, including weekends and holidays.

What You’ll Do

• Follow feeding and care instructions accurately for each pet.
• Clean and sanitize kennels, play areas, equipment, and pet messes throughout your shift.
• Supervise off-leash play, watch body language, and help maintain safe interactions.
• Provide exercise, enrichment, attention, and rest based on each pet’s needs.
• Watch for changes in appetite, behavior, or physical condition and promptly report concerns.
• Assist with boarding and daycare dogs
• Take safe, clear photos of pets for updates and social media.
• Help organize daycare activities and special events.
• Communicate clearly with teammates and complete assigned tasks before handing off your shift.

Who Will Do Well Here

You’re dependable, observant, and willing to handle the less glamorous parts of pet care. You stay focused when the day gets busy, accept feedback, and help teammates without waiting to be asked.

Previous pet care or dog-handling experience is preferred. You must also be:

• Comfortable handling dogs and cats of different sizes and temperaments.
• Able to perform physical work, including lifting, bending, standing, and cleaning.
• Willing to use concentrated cleaning products safely and follow dilution instructions.
• Careful with details, especially feeding instructions, pet observations, and cleaning procedures.
• Available for weekend and holiday shifts.

Schedule

Approximately 30–38 hours per week, with at least two days off.

Shifts fall within these hours:

• Monday–Friday: 6:45 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
• Saturday: 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
• Sunday: 7:00–10:00 a.m. and/or 4:00–6:00 p.m.

Weekend and holiday availability is required. Scheduling flexibility depends on pet-care coverage.
