About the Position
Wish Bone Canine Rescue is seeking an organized, dependable, and compassionate Office Operations Coordinator to support daily shelter operations, administrative tasks, volunteer and foster coordination, and animal care logistics. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, enjoys working with people and animals, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate foster support, supply distribution, volunteer onboarding, and orientations.
- Schedule veterinary appointments and surgery nights; submit weekly surgery schedules by Monday at 5:00 p.m.
- Maintain accurate animal, medical, and adoption records.
- Respond to phone calls, voicemails, and inquiries within 24 hours.
- Submit required rabies documentation, microchip registrations, and Hill’s data on schedule.
- Maintain organized office files, spreadsheets, tracking systems, and operational logs.
- Keep the shelter, lobby, and common areas clean, safe, organized, and welcoming.
- Organize donations, food, and supplies and assist visitors, adopters, volunteers, and foster families.
- Transport dogs to scheduled surgery nights and assist with animal care as needed.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
- Computer proficiency, including spreadsheets and databases.
- Ability to multitask, work independently, and collaborate with a team.
- Basic understanding of canine behavior, health, and animal welfare.
- Animal rescue, veterinary, shelter, administrative, customer service, or volunteer coordination experience preferred.
- Commitment to the mission and values of Wish Bone Canine Rescue.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and stand or walk for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and reach overhead.
- Ability to safely handle dogs of varying sizes and temperaments.
- Comfortable working in an active shelter environment.
