Overview
Angels for Sight is a non-profit vision clinic dedicated to improving access to quality eye care for underserved communities across Southern California. Our mission is to serve veterans, low-income individuals, the uninsured or underinsured, seniors, and children who face barriers to receiving essential vision services.
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Clinical Manager, Optometry to oversee daily clinical operations, manage a diverse team of staff and volunteers, uphold compliance with healthcare standards while ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. This leader will also play a key role in advancing our mission through community partnerships, effective management practices, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
· Oversee day-to-day operations of the Long Beach clinic to ensure smooth and efficient patient flow and service delivery.
· Supervise and support staff and volunteers, providing coaching, training, and performance feedback.
· Collaborate with organizational leadership (Executive Director and Clinic Director) to advance clinic goals and initiatives.
· Conduct team meetings, manage volunteer onboarding and scheduling, and foster a positive clinic culture.
· Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations, clinic policies, and quality assurance standards.
· Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards accreditation requirements.
· Manage patient scheduling through Revolution software and ensure patients are connected to appropriate vision care or external resources.
· Evaluate patient eligibility for clinic services and external assistance programs.
· Prepare monthly operational reports and contribute to strategic planning activities.
· Serve as a liaison with community partners, healthcare providers, and outreach initiatives.
Qualifications
· Licensure or Certification in Optometry (Valid in California)
· Bachelor’s degree in social work, healthcare administration, public health, business, or a related field.
· Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a healthcare, optometry, or nonprofit clinic setting.
· Supervisory or leadership experience in clinical operations.
· Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
· Demonstrated commitment to health equity and community service for underserved populations.
