Human Geographer - Mid-Level

Role Description
We are presently identifying candidates for the following position: Human Geographer - Mid-Level. A Human Geographer (HG) applies an understanding of geography, research, GIS, data conflation, and management skills to produce a broad array of human geography products including attributed data, maps, and written reports. Production phases for HG projects and products may include research, discovery, evaluation, extraction, creation, geo-enabling, quality control/review, metadata attribution, source citation, service enabling and dissemination.
Minimum Qualifications
- U.S. Citizen
- Active Top-Secret/SCI security clearance at time of application and willingness to complete a CI poly upon request.
- Five to ten (5-10) years of relevant and specialized professional experience in human geography, geospatial analysis, pattern of life, regional/functional expertise, and/or Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
- Bachelor's degree in Geography or another related field can substitute for 3 years of professional experience requirement; Master's degree in related field can account for 2 years of requirement.
- Demonstrated proficiency in relevant software applications such as ESRI products (ArcPro, ArcMap), SOCET GXP, QGIS, Remoteview, or similar electronic light table applications, GRiD, DVOF, IGW, GAIT etc.; previous GEOINT production experience preferred.
- Experience using feature layers (shapefiles), raster data (imagery/DEM), geodatabases (GDB, FDB), cartographic products, and safe data handling and storage procedures.
- Ability to produce GEOINT products to NGA standards and quality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferred candidates should have completed relevant Formal/Advanced Military Training (Tech School, Advanced Individual Training, A School, or other MOS/AFSC/Rate granting equivalent) or have a current GEOINT Professional Certification-Foundations (GPC-F).
- Knowledge of NGA Products and Services such as Maritime and Aeronautical maps and charts, Geographic Names Database (GNDB), imagery and data repositories.
- Experience with Python scripting.
Work Environment
Work is within a team environment and will be conducted on site in St. Louis, MO.
