Reports To: Director, Internal Affairs.

Location: Chamblee, Georgia.

Position Summary:

The Manager of Internal Affairs oversees all investigative functions, ensuring organizational integrity, compliance, and adherence to operational standards. This leader is responsible for supervising sensitive investigations, operational procedures, external investigations, and regulatory compliance. The role requires strong investigative acumen, sound ethical judgment, and the ability to interact professionally with personnel at all levels, including external legal counsel and regulatory bodies.

Key Responsibilities:

Internal Investigations Management:

  • Lead, plan, and conduct internal/external investigations.
  • Collect evidence, perform interviews, review surveillance, and produce high-quality investigative reports.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle all investigative data in accordance with legal and company standards.

Compliance & Risk Mitigation:

  • Ensure operations align with state licensing requirements, industry regulations, and internal policies.
  • Identify operational or compliance gaps and recommend corrective actions.
  • Act as liaison with attorneys, regulatory agencies, and leadership during legal reviews or administrative hearings.

Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Supervise and mentor internal affairs staff, investigators, or contracted specialists.
  • Collaborate with ESU, investigators, and HR regarding employee performance and disciplinary recommendations.
  • Advise executive leadership on trends, risks, and required policy updates.
  • Support training related to ethics, compliance, evidence handling, and investigative best practices.

Reporting & Documentation:

  • Prepare detailed investigative summaries, case briefs, findings reports, and formal recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate records and case tracking systems.
  • Present findings in meetings with leadership, legal teams, or external authorities as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Security Studies, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • 5 years of investigative experience, preferably in internal affairs, compliance investigations, private security, or detective work.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting structured interviews, gathering evidence, and preparing investigative reports.
  • Understanding of state and federal laws relevant to private investigations and security operations.
  • Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple sensitive cases simultaneously and maintain strict confidentiality.

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior military police (MP), security forces, or military investigation experience strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with chain-of-command discipline, incident reporting, and investigative protocols.
  • Proven ability to operate in structured, high-pressure environments requiring discretion, risk assessment, and fast decision-making.
  • Background in interviewing, threat assessment, evidence collection, or tactical incident response is a plus.
  • 3 years of experience as a licensed private detective.
