Heating & Air Conditioning Technician & InstallerPosition Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Heating & Air Conditioning Technician & Installer to join our team. This position is responsible for performing HVAC service, maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, replacements, and new system installations for residential and light commercial customers.
The ideal candidate is knowledgeable, professional, mechanically inclined, safety-conscious, and able to work independently while providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform installation, replacement, maintenance, and repair of heating and air conditioning systems.
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, airflow, and control-system problems.
- Install and service furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, rooftop units, air handlers, boilers, humidifiers, and related HVAC equipment.
- Properly install and connect refrigerant piping, ductwork, condensate drains, electrical components, and low-voltage controls.
- Perform refrigerant recovery, evacuation, leak detection, charging, and system commissioning.
- Troubleshoot compressors, motors, capacitors, contactors, control boards, thermostats, safeties, sensors, and other HVAC components.
- Perform preventative maintenance and system inspections.
- Complete equipment start-ups and verify proper operation, airflow, temperatures, pressures, electrical readings, and safety controls.
- Read and understand wiring diagrams, installation manuals, equipment specifications, and job plans.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas and protect customer property during service and installation.
- Communicate professionally with customers and explain system conditions, repairs, and recommendations.
- Complete service tickets, installation documentation, equipment information, and job notes accurately.
- Follow company procedures, manufacturer specifications, applicable codes, and safety requirements.
- Assist with material and equipment loading, unloading, transportation, and job-site preparation.
- Maintain company tools, equipment, vehicles, and inventory in good working condition.
- Work efficiently as part of a team while also being capable of completing assigned work independently.
Qualifications
- HVAC service and/or installation experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Basic understanding of refrigeration systems and HVAC controls.
- Ability to use common HVAC diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and follow technical instructions.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift HVAC equipment and materials and work on ladders, rooftops, attics, crawlspaces, and other job-site environments.
- Ability to work in hot, cold, dusty, and physically demanding conditions.
- EPA 608 certification preferred and required for applicable refrigerant work.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Professional appearance, communication, and customer-service skills.
- Willingness to learn new equipment, technologies, and installation practices.
Preferred Skills
- Residential and commercial HVAC experience.
- Experience with rooftop units and commercial equipment.
- Experience with newer refrigerants and high-efficiency equipment.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting abilities.
- Brazing, refrigerant piping, and system commissioning experience.
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs.
- Ability to independently diagnose problems and determine appropriate repair solutions.

Compensation, benefits, company vehicle/tools, training opportunities, and advancement opportunities may be provided based on experience, qualifications, and position level.
Pay: $25.00 - $45.00 per hour
