- Greet patients warmly and provide excellent customer service at the front desk, ensuring a positive first impression.
- Schedule appointments efficiently using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, managing multi-line phone systems and appointment calendars.
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and process claims using systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth.
- Collect payments, process co-pays, and handle billing procedures with accuracy in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Maintain and update patient records in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems including eClinicalWorks, Dentrix, or Eaglesoft; review documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- Assist with medical and dental intake procedures, ensuring all necessary forms are completed and properly filed.
- Support the clinical team by managing medical coding tasks such as CPT, ICD-10/ICD-9 codes, and insurance documentation review to facilitate smooth billing processes.
- Manage correspondence related to care plans, treatment schedules, and follow-up appointments while maintaining strict confidentiality of health information.
- Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or Dental Receptionist with clinic or dental office experience preferred.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, Dentrix, Eaglesoft or similar platforms. Experience with Eaglesoft is a plus!
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing skills (10 key typing).
- Exceptional phone etiquette and communication skills; bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations.
- Prior experience with insurance verification, medical administrative support, and office management is highly desirable.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in documentation review and filing processes.
