Position Overview:
The Parts Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the parts department, including inventory management, staff leadership, profitability, and customer satisfaction. This role plays a critical part in supporting service operations and driving overall dealership success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations of the parts department
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to support service and retail demand
- Monitor and control obsolescence and shrinkage
- Ensure accurate pricing, stocking, and ordering procedures
- Lead, train, and develop parts department staff
- Work closely with service and sales departments to maximize efficiency
- Track and analyze department KPIs (gross profit, turns, fill rate, etc.)
- Maintain strong relationships with manufacturers and vendors
- Ensure compliance with company policies and manufacturer standards
- 3 years of automotive parts management experience
- Strong knowledge of dealership operations and inventory control
- Proven leadership and team-building skills
- Experience with DMS systems. Preferred experience in DealerTrack
- Strong organizational and communication skills
