Collaborative Partnerships: Serve as a trusted point of contact and partner for departmentadministrators,fosteringproductiveandcollaborativerelationshipsacross assigned units.

Followingan initialonboarding period, this position will have remote work flexibility up to2days per week and will work onsite a minimum of3days per week.
- Identifies, designs, implements, and monitors Human Resources and staff training programs consistent with strategic objectives and initiatives
- Identifies, proposes, implements, and interprets employment policies and practices for stakeholders, and provides recommendations for changes
- Serves as subject matter expert to support unit managers' alignment of business needs and human resources strategy
- Directs and manages unit operational functions and/or staff
- Monitors programs and practices to ensure compliance with human resources laws, regulations, and institutional policies

The College of Letters and Science (L&S) is the heart of UW-Madison and home to a tremendous breadth and depth of departments and degree-granting programs in the humanities; natural, physical, and mathematical sciences; and social sciences.
Compensation:The expected salary range for this position is $80,000 up to $106,000 for highly experienced candidates. Actual pay within this range will depend on experience and qualifications.

Required Qualifications:Minimum 3 years relevant experience in Human Resources, payroll, or related role
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to maintain effective working relationships with managers, staff, and campus partners
Demonstrated sound judgment and discretion in applying and interpreting HR policies and procedures
Experience with improving processes, navigating change, and/or applying systems thinking to work
Experience utilizing a Human Resource Information System (e.g. Workday, Peoplesoft, etc.)
Direct supervisory experience or equivalent experience leading/managing a team
Human resources and/or payroll experience in a higher education or similar setting
Bachelor's degreepreferred
