What are the responsibilities and job description for the Waunakee Summer Day Camp Counselor position at Wisconsin Youth Company?
Position Summary: Under the direction of the camp director and assistant director, the counselor provides direct supervision to an assigned group of campers while at camp and during off-site field and swim trips. The counselor implements fun day camp programming for campers ages 5-12. They also ensure that all health and safety standards are met.
Hours & Pay:
This is a summer position with the option to join our school year team
Up to $18.00 per hour, pay is based on education and experience
Full-time, up to 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, June 15-August 14, with the option to work August 17-21
Required training will take place in May and June

The Ideal Candidate:
- Must be 18 years of age
- Has a high school diploma or GED
- Has the ability to supervise an active group of children
- Knows the importance of creating a safe environment for children
- Has experience working with children in any setting
- Values building relationships with children and families
Program Locations: Our summer day camps are located in elementary schools and community centers in Madison, Verona, and Waunakee
