What You'll Do
As the Quality Manager, you'll provide strategic and operational leadership for all aspects of food safety, quality assurance, quality control, and regulatory compliance within our manufacturing operations. You'll work closely with Operations, Technology, Supply & Trading, Commercial, Engineering, and our supplier network to drive excellence throughout the production process.
Champion Food Safety & Quality Excellence
- Lead the site's food safety and quality management systems, ensuring the highest standards across manufacturing operations.
- Foster a culture where quality is everyone's responsibility and continuous improvement is embedded into daily operations.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to proactively identify opportunities to improve product quality, consistency, and customer satisfaction.
Lead Quality Systems & Regulatory Compliance
- Maintain and continuously improve programs including:
- HACCP
- GMPs
- SSOPs
- SQF/BRC standards
- FSMA compliance
- FDA and USDA regulatory requirements
- Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and third-party certification requirements.
- Oversee product registrations and maintain all required quality documentation.
Audit & Inspection Leadership
- Lead internal and external audits, including:
- SQF
- FDA
- Customer audits
- Kosher and Halal certifications
- Coordinate audit preparation, corrective actions, and follow-up activities.
- Partner with regulatory agencies and customers while representing WWP at FrieslandCampina with professionalism and confidence.
Drive Continuous Improvement
- Lead deviation investigations, root cause analysis, and CAPA initiatives.
- Monitor quality trends and performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Develop sustainable solutions that improve processes, reduce risk, and strengthen product consistency.
- Ensure crisis management and product recall readiness through robust systems and planning.
Manage Laboratory & Product Quality
- Oversee Quality Assurance and Quality Control laboratory operations.
- Manage both internal laboratory functions and relationships with trusted external laboratory partners.
- Ensure raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods consistently meet quality specifications.
- Support new product introductions and validate product functionality and performance.
Lead & Develop the Team
- Coach, mentor, and develop a high-performing Quality team.
- Create an environment focused on accountability, collaboration, learning, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with leaders across the organization to strengthen quality ownership at every level.
What You Bring
We're looking for a collaborative leader with a strong technical foundation and a passion for building quality systems that support operational excellence.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or a related scientific field.
- Minimum of 6 years of progressive quality leadership experience within dairy or food manufacturing.
- Experience leading Quality Assurance and Quality Control teams in a manufacturing environment.
Technical Expertise
Strong knowledge of:
- Whey processing and dairy ingredient manufacturing
- Cheese production and milk protein functionality
- HACCP principles
- GMPs and SSOPs
- SQF and BRC certification standards
- FSMA requirements
- FDA and USDA regulations
- Food safety and quality management systems
Professional Experience
- Proven success leading regulatory, customer, and third-party audits.
- Experience managing CAPA programs, root cause investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong understanding of laboratory operations, product specifications, and quality reporting.
- Experience partnering across Operations, Engineering, Commercial, Supply Chain, and Technical teams.
