JOB REQUIREMENTS: The Wisconsin Veterans Home at King (WVHK) is
recruiting for a limited-term employment (LTE) Nursing Assistant 1
(Trainee), to join our dedicated Nursing team. The position begins with
a 18-day training class, the class is scheduled to begin June 15, 2026
at our Wisconsin Veterans Home at King. The class is limited to 8 staff.
The Home is a 24/7/365 long-term care facility that specializes in
providing comfort, support, and professional healthcare services to
elderly or disabled veterans and spouses of veterans. Our facility is on
the picturesque shoreline of the Chain O\'Lakes, off Highway 10, between
Stevens Point and Appleton, Wisconsin. This agency is committed to
serving Wisconsin\'s veteran population. Our positions offer the
satisfaction of serving those who have served us all. Our Nursing
Assistant Trainees are required to attend all hours of training with the
core hours of 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday
Friday (approximately 3 weeks of training). The shifts with the greatest
need are PM (1:45pm - 10:15pm) and NOC (10:00pm - 6:00am). There is
flexibility with scheduling of hours/shifts in LTE positions, after
course completion, based on departmental need. LTE jobs are limited to
1,039 hours in a 12-month period and do not include employee benefits.
Nursing Assistant Trainee\'s must be able to assist with mobility
efforts; wear protective clothing and use special safety equipment;
lift, carry, push, pull, reach, stand, sit, kneel, squat; stand and/or
walk up to 75% of eight-hour day. These requirements cover the major and

perform. Due to the nature of the position, WDVA will conduct a criminal
background check prior to an offer of employment. Employment in this
position is contingent upon passing a pre-employment tuberculosis (TB)

qualified applicants will: Able to attend all hours of training; 16
years of age on or before the effective date of the appointment, June
15, 2026; Work or volunteer experience in customer service. Performing
care procedures in formal or informal settings such as infant, child,
adult, or animal care Computer experience Well-qualified applicants will
have experience: Performing care procedures for an adult or disabled
population such as but not limited to Assisted Living Settings, Private
Care or In Home Able to communicate effectively with a wide variety of
people and/or experience in a team setting. Problem solving Computer
experience in health care CPR certified Per Wisconsin Statute 230.26,
