Why Choose Wisconsin Swim Academy
As a swim instructor you are responsible for the safety of each class and teaching swim skills to students using our curriculum. Each of our staff is cross trained to also fill our Float/Lifeguard positions which work together to prevent dangers in and around the water at our facility. You will work to build water confidence within your students, encouraging each student to rise to the best of their abilities. You can expect to be regularly communicating with students and fellow staff members in an effort to learn as much as you can. You should be someone with a growth mindset looking to develop your leadership skills and make an impact on your community. As a swim instructor you will report to the Staff Manager and Instructional Manager for assistance and direction with swim instruction, safety, and scheduling. There are opportunities for growth within the organization if desired!
We have a fun and rewarding work environment with a great atmosphere for someone who loves teaching and being around water. We offer paid training. This is a part-time position that requires afternoon/evening and weekend shifts.

Compensation
- Paid training (8–12 weeks) - $16.50/Hour
- Pay increase upon training completion - $18/Hour
- Eligible for ongoing leadership development - 3% increase per additional training completed

Responsibilities:

- Follow our curriculum with a focus on the needs, abilities and comfort of each student.
- Be a team player who consistently dependable and reliable to be present and enthusiastic
- Complete required training and be a continual learner.

Qualifications:
- Current and valid lifeguard certification preferred but not required
- Caring and compassion for children and adults

- Ability to work in the water for periods of up to 5 hours
- Strong communication skills
- Great attitude and growth mindset
- The ability to focus in a fast-paced environment
- The ability to commit to at least 1 year of employment, afternoons and weekends required

Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
- Must be able to be in the water for at least 3 hours at a time
- Must be able to be on your feet for at least 3 hours
