Wisconsin River Title, LLC. in Portage, Wisconsin is looking for a Title Examiner to join our amazing team!
Wisconsin River Title is a long-standing title insurance provider committed to exceptional customer service. We are a full service title company for both residential and commercial real estate transactions providing: title insurance, real estate closings, construction disbursements and other related services.
We are seeking a dedicated Title Examiner to complement our proven services. In this role, the Title Examiner scours property titles and public records, which include researching legal proceedings and judgments during or preceding any title’s existence.
To ensure success as a Title Examiner, you should exhibit a solid understanding of applicable laws related to property ownership.
Job Functions:
- Examine and verify title vesting on properties and verify the legal description of the property.
- Search public real estate records, and tax records.
- Examine document found in search, such as deeds, mortgage, easements, restrictions, judgments, liens.
- Prepare title documents such as reports and title commitments.
- Compile lists of mortgages, contracts, and other instruments pertaining to titles by searching public and private records for law firms, real estate agencies, or lenders.
- Report research findings on property titles accurately and clearly.
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma and/or GED, required
- Post high school education and/or training, preferred (business administration, legal or related field)
- Minimum 1 year experience in title/real estate industry, highly desired
- High accuracy and attention to detail
- Exceptional research ability, combined with sound analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work 8 hours at desk/computer
Salary:
- $20 - $25 per hour, depending on experience and education/training
