Optometrist Needed – Rural Health Clinic

Richland Hospital is seeking a dedicated and skilled Optometrist to join our Rural Health Clinic team. This role offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive eye care to patients of all ages in a collaborative, community-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive eye exams and diagnose ocular conditions.
• Manage diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and cataracts.
  
• Prescribe corrective lenses and provide vision therapy or low vision rehabilitation.
  
• Perform minor procedures (e.g., foreign body removal, punctal plug insertion).
  
• Collaborate with primary care and specialty providers.
  
• Educate patients on eye health and preventive care.
  
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record system.
  
Participate in community outreach and vision screening events.

Qualifications

• Education: Doctor of Optometry (OD) from an accredited optometry school.
• Licensure: Wisconsin Optometry License, NBEO Certification, DEA Registration (if prescribing), Valid WI Driver’s License.
  
• Certifications: CPR required; ACLS and PALS encouraged.
  
• Experience: Minimum 2 years in clinical optometry preferred; rural/underserved experience a plus.
  
Skills: Strong clinical competence, communication, and teamwork abilities.
