About the Role: DFW is seeking a self-driven, organized, and resourceful student intern to work with the DFW Wisconsin Communications team from January through August 2025. In this role, you will play an integral role on the Wisconsin Communications Team, reaching farmers and consumers (WisconsinDairy.org). Through our program partners and stakeholders, you will be responsible for:
- Managing, developing, maintaining, and modifying content/data, presentation decks, graphical and multimedia displays, and various communications.
- Developing, coordinating and monitoring National Dairy Month (NDM) efforts through ongoing support across departments.
- Coordinating with staff across multiple departments to determine NDM needs and content updates that relate to Wisconsin consumers and farmers.
- Staffing industry trade shows.
- Creating evergreen content and a social calendar for Champions of Dairy.
- Assist with writing content, editing, and creation of presentation decks. Video editing a plus.
- Write a minimum of three industry related articles and assist with NDM media outreach.
- Developing, coordinating Champion of Dairy (COD) funding and grant applications, and Farmer Communications- ongoing support across departments
- Other duties as assigned.
About You: Undergraduate student enrolled in a dairy related education program. Must have great interpersonal skills, work well under pressure, and have an eye for detail. Must have a working knowledge of dairy farming practices and be proficient with Microsoft Office and Excel. You must be able to work independently. You will positively contribute to a culture of unity and excellence here at DFW by being hungry, humble, and smart.
About the Job & Benefits. This internship will be January through May 2025 for 15-20 hours a week and then June-August 2025 up to 30 hours a week. Our office is in Madison, Wisconsin, but travel throughout Wisconsin will be expected. Remote work available. You should be willing to travel approximately 10% of the time, including occasional weekends. Compensation based on qualifications.
