Position Summary
The Correctional Management Services Director (CMSD) is responsible for administration, planning, development, management, and supervision of all management services for WCCS, a 1,981-capacity minimum-security correctional institution comprised of 14 correctional centers and one administrative office located in different geographical areas of the state.
Areas of responsibility include fiscal management, policy development, budget development and budget control, purchasing, resident accounts, food service, canteen, inventory control, buildings and grounds, risk and fleet management as well as direct supervision of staff.
The CMSD must have a working knowledge and understanding of Wisconsin Statutes pertaining to the operation of the facility. As assigned, the CMSD assumes responsibility for WCCS in the absence of the Warden, Deputy Warden and Security Director.
Salary Information
This position is in pay schedule and range 81-02 with a starting pay of $49.00/hour - $50.00/hour. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. A two-year Career Executive trial period will be required, or for those with permanent status as a Career Executive, a twelve-month probationary period may be required instead.

This position is not eligible for remote work and will work on site.
Anticipated schedule will be Monday – Friday 7:45 AM – 4:30 PM
This position will also have on-call responsibilities which may include, nights, weekends, and holidays.
This position is FLSA Exempt.
This position will occasionally travel to other DOC worksites and may travel for training, meetings, conferences, or similar events.
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.
The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.

- Experience ensuring service or business functions are in compliance with established policies and procedures, including State and Federal regulations
- Experience with administration of a budget
- Experience in accounting, fiscal control, and purchasing goods and services
- Experience managing capital assets (e.g., purchases, construction, maintenance, repair, etc.)
- Experience overseeing operations of a residential facility (e.g., resident food/nutrition, risk management, buildings and grounds maintenance, etc.)
- Experience in directing and overseeing management services and business office operations (such as: purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, asset management, etc.)
- Experience in developing, monitoring, and overseeing a facility budget
- Experience working in a correctional setting
