Primary Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of welding processes, including MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux-Core, to fabricate, assemble, and repair metal components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, welding symbols, and work instructions to complete projects accurately.
- Measure, cut, shape, fit, and assemble metal materials using fabrication equipment and hand tools.
- Operate and maintain welding and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently.
- Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards, customer specifications, and structural requirements.
- Follow all safety procedures, properly use personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Collaborate with production team members to meet production schedules while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
- Assist with custom fabrication projects, continuous improvement initiatives, and other production-related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED
- 2 years of welding and fabrication experience or a welding certificate/degree from a technical or vocational school
- Knowledge of welding techniques, processes, and safety practices
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols
- Proficiency using fabrication equipment, hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to perform accurate layout, fitting, and fabrication work
- Knowledge of metal properties, materials, and fabrication methods
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently while also contributing as a member of a team
- Effective communication, organization, and time management skills
- Ability to prioritize work and meet production deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Technical school, vocational training, or certification in welding, fabrication, metalworking, or a related field
- Experience in a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment
- Experience operating fabrication equipment and reading blueprints
