Position Overview
We’re seeking an experienced Lead AV Installer to oversee installation projects from start to finish. This role requires advanced technical skills, leadership in the field, and the ability to represent WAV professionally on client sites. You’ll lead installation crews, coordinate with project managers, interface with clients, and ensure each project is delivered on time and to our high standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead on-site installation of commercial AV systems: displays, projection, audio, and control systems
- Read and interpret AV drawings, schematics, and signal flow diagrams
- Terminate and test Cat6, HDMI, audio, and control cabling
- Rack, mount, and neatly dress AV and network equipment
- Coordinate with project managers, electricians, IT staff, and clients
- Train and mentor installation technicians and apprentices
- Verify system performance and assist with commissioning and client handoff
Qualifications
- 3 years of commercial AV installation experience (lead or senior tech level preferred)
- Strong understanding of audio, video, control, and network integration
- Proficient with systems such as Q-SYS, Crestron, Extron, Biamp, or Dante
- Skilled at jobsite organization, crew leadership, and client communication
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Preferred Certifications
- CTS, CTS-I, or CTS-D (or willingness to pursue)
- OSHA 10/30
- Manufacturer certifications (Q-SYS, Crestron, Biamp, Extron, etc.)
