Machine Shop Supervisor
Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry – Manitowoc, WI
Due to internal promotion, we are seeking a hands-on Machine Shop Supervisor to lead a small team in a tool room-style machining environment within our foundry operations.
This is not a high-volume production CNC shop!! Our machine shop primarily supports the foundry through tooling repair, custom machining, equipment component rebuilds, and problem-solving work that keeps operations running.
If you enjoy diagnosing mechanical problems, repairing tooling, and machining custom parts, this is an opportunity to lead a skilled team while staying close to the work.
What You'll Do
• Supervise daily operations of the machine shop and tool room team
• Prioritize repair and machining work supporting foundry production and maintenance
• Oversee repair and rebuilding of tooling, fixtures, and mechanical components
• Troubleshoot worn or damaged parts and determine machining solutions
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to machinists
• Maintain safe and organized shop operations
• Work closely with maintenance, engineering, and production teams to support equipment uptime
This role combines leadership and hands-on technical problem solving.

• 5 years of machining experience in a tool room, maintenance, or repair environment
• Strong experience with manual machining equipment (lathe, mill, grinder)
• Ability to read blueprints and mechanical drawings
• Strong troubleshooting and mechanical problem-solving skills
• Versatility and flexibility managing a rapidly changing schedule
